About the Item
Clean lines of modern materials seamlessly mesh with distressed hardwood in this one of a kind furniture piece. Floating effortlessly atop our handcrafted brass legs the soft matte finish of the exterior panels frame a rich history within the reclaimed and stained hardwood cladding on the door face.
This is a Single Geode cabinet from the North Fork Collection at Studio Melrose. This piece works alone or paired up as your bedside table, end table, or complimentary plinth. Studio Melrose founders, Jodie Jacobson Melrose and David Melrose, are from the North Fork Valley of Colorado and the North Fork of Long Island respectively. The North Fork Collection is intended to embody universal style, embodying sensibilities that are just fitting on the coast as in the mountains or the city.
The top and sides of the piece are white Corian, finished in matte treatment, that is equal parts sophisticated and durable. The base is solid brass formed in the outline of our classic standard leg. This sculptural, hand crafted form allows the geode cabinet to float weightlessly above. The door faces feature a white washed patinated wood finish. We use European style hinges with an effortless push-to-open mechanism. Utilizing invisible hardware is a staple in our work, but for this piece we have highlighted the fasteners leaving the recessed precision brass hardware exposed on each side. Our cabinets are designed to be more than just furniture, they are functional art in your home.
