Pair of French Midcentury Gilt Iron 'Creneaux' Tables Attributed to Jean Royère

About the Item

Elegant and rare pair of French Mid-Century Modern Neoclassical side or end tables in hand gilt wrought iron attributed to Jean Royère. The 'Creneaux' tables are classic, modern pieces featuring a geometric, rhythmic pattern with open, slotted spacing providing lightness and transparency. The tops are composed of a thick glass and are inset into the frames providing a seamless appearance. Limestone, travertine or another stone will also work well as tops. Jean Royere was the most important interior design and furniture creator in France during the 1950 period. His iconic designs are prized throughout the world.
