An alternative version of our Architectural Post-Modern oak & walnut pillar table nightstands. Designed and handcrafted in England using traditional furniture and cabinetry techniques from fully quarter-sawn English Oak and American Black Walnut. The best English quarter-sawn oak displaying its magnificent medullary rays that are so prized by furniture makers and admirers the world over. Our distinctive hand-cut oversized dovetail jointing with turned walnut upright pillar piercing through the sections. These are intended as multi functioning pieces and can be used as nightstands and end tables etc. They are substantial, bold and striking pieces of completely handmade furniture, built to last. Finished in durable Osmo top oil. We are able to create other versions and adaptations of this design. A curved Oak and American Black Walnut version can be seen in the final images and are available in our listings/storefront. We design bold and distinctive pieces of furniture – our main objective is combining the design alongside the natural beauty and properties of the raw materials. These timbers and materials are very carefully chosen for each specific design - maintaining our focus on the benefits, visual impact and strengths of what we use. Our regular use of English Quartersawn Oak is one case in point. It has been the beloved timber of fine furniture makers across the world for centuries. It is costly to produce but gives huge benefits and rewards such as its striking medullary rays and superb stability qualities. By utilising these wonderful and naturally occurring features with our contemporary designs we aim to continue creating some very distinct, tactile and idiosyncratic pieces. These are all completely handmade, in very small numbers, by our skilled craftspeople in England.
