Sculptural Onyx and Mahogany Table Attributed to Osvaldo Borsani, 1940s

About the Item

A unique table featuring a sculpted mahogany tripod base and a stunning onyx top with knife edge. Most likely designed by Osvaldo Borsani and designed in Italy around 1950, however we are still searching for documentation. The table appears to be in its original condition, with light age consistent wear to the lacquered mahogany base. The striking onyx top is original to the table and is in beautiful vintage condition with only a couple minor imperfections: one small chip to the edge and one tiny, nominal fleabite along the edge. These are not distracting at all and basically get lost in the swirling grain of the onyx. The table features impressible, heavy duty, steel hardware and flat head screws. A wonderful collector's piece which shows its age beautifully. Condition Notes: The table appears to be in its original condition, with light age consistent wear to the lacquered mahogany base. The striking onyx top is original to the table and is in beautiful vintage condition with only a couple minor imperfections: one small chip to the edge and one tiny, nominal fleabite along the edge.
