About the Item

Farm table hand-made in France in the mid 1700s using oak and pegged construction. The table has a beautiful warm color and great proportions. Measuring more than 2 mt in length this is a table that will accommodate many guests or be used to prep a sizable banquet. The top features two long boards with pegged breadboards on each end. The apron is straight and a single drawer with beautiful, large, hand-made dovetail joints in found on one end. The four square legs with mitered corners are mortised in the apron and connected to one another with an I-stretcher. Some wear is visible on the stretcher where people have been resting their feet for centuries. The farm table is well built and still solid, ready to be used for many years to come. Its large size will allow for different members of the family to work on different things at the same time while keeping company to each other and making memories. Its color and character will bring warmth to any home as well as that often-sought after French country elegance.
