About the Item

Kitchen / work table hand-made in central Italy in the early 1700s using walnut. We found this table in a beautiful estate in Rome and fell in love with it the moment we saw it: its color, character and proportions are just stunning. This baby is a show-stopper, and a stylish and elegant addition for any home. The table features typical Italian hand-carved molding under the top, as well as applied hand-carved molding on the inset drawer fronts and apron. The apron is actually finished all around, making this a perfect choice if you are looking for a piece that needs to sit in the center of a room. The legs are hand-turned and connected with an I-stretcher. The central part of the stretcher was most likely replaced at some time during its long life. This is an absolutely stunning table. Its lines are elegant, and its warm chocolate color accentuated by lighter and darker hues caused by time and use give it a unique look that will add character and history to any space.
