Rectangular walnut desco, Tuscany, 15th century
About the Item
Rectangular walnut desco, Tuscany, 15th century
Rectangular-shaped top supported on the sides by two brackets terminating in double brackets at the top and bottom, brought together by a single crossbeam whose heads protrude from the brackets and are stopped by the two original connecting rods that fit into a hole drilled in the crossbeam itself.
Note the elegance in the molding of the shelves, and the great drawer with the nailed joint on the front that runs the length of the table and, when pushed to one side, gives the desk the ability to be used as a writing desk.
A typical expression of the taste and harmony that make Tuscan furniture of this era unsurpassed models of measured architecture and balance.
