Rare Art Deco Illuminated gueridon table circa 1922 in the manner of R.Subes

About the Item

Very decorative Illuminated gueridon table Hammered Wrought-iron pedestal resting on an octagonal “vert-de-Mer” marble base With a white opaline glass diffuser inside With its original Saint-Gobain tinted and grained glass circular top Circa 1925 H 80 cm Diam 83,5 cm Attributed to Louis Katona The shape of this table evokes the stylized silhouette of palm trees, with the basin that figures the corolla of leaves and the rounded foot referring to that of a trunk. By juxtaposing his natural motifs with his decidedly Industrial material, designer Laszlo Katona crafted a distinctly modern piece of either of furniture, either of lighting, fitting in perfectly with the wave of change brought about by the Art Deco period. Louis Katona was a French art craftsman born in 1850. He worked with Edgard Brandt. The artist died in 1933 Artist's alternative names: Laszlo Katona
