About the Item

This a vintage English sewing table with its original scrap bag and finish. This table comes with a deep dovetail right side drawer. Top opens to reveal a storage area divided with a compartmental tray . Tray is removable. Open top also reveals a beveled mirror that allows for the use of the table as a vanity. This table is a 1960s reproduction of the 1800s English work or sewing table. Top in Birdseye maple and maple wood. The scrap bag tray rail is missing a small piece, but the bag is still functional. Key not present. Similar originals, very rare to come by, go for a much as $26000. Table Measures 17.5" in width, 16.5" in depth and stands 30.5" tall, the conventional height of most tables. W5.

A fine and rare, beautifully restored American Classical period sewing stand work table in mahogany and rosewood. Elegantly sophisticated, this scarce antique is a wonderful example of high quality early 19th century American craftsmanship. Exhibiting fine detail throughout, the exquisitely handcrafted work table features a hinged shaped top with rounded corners, curved concave front, stunning highly figured matched rosewood inlay complimented by mahogany cross banded edge, set over a conforming shaped case.
