18th Century Georgian Mahogany Dressing Table with Lift Top and Sliding Mirror

About the Item

Fine 18th Century Georgian mahogany dressing table with lift top and sliding mirror and removable compartments. Dating from the mid 18th century, this piece is a fine example of the "neat and plain" style with its straight Marlborough legs and restrained molding and decoration yet features the craftsmanship of gild trained cabinetmakers who were specialists in design and metamorphic furniture. The top lifts open to reveal a well where there are multiple compartments and a dressing mirror. The mirror can then be ratcheted up and slid back for different angles.
