English Queen Anne Cherry Lowboy

About the Item

English Queen Anne cherry lowboy, this early 18th century piece has a molded edge top with nicely shaped pinched corners. The single long drawer over three smaller drawers have reticulated brass pulls and escutcheon, all with overlapping and molded edges. Below is a beautifully shaped apron ( note the sides have shaped lower edges as well) . The cabriole legs terminate with pad feet. Antique cherry furniture was very susceptible to worm infestation. This is quite common on period cherry pieces and is not considered a fault, in our opinion( see photos of the top). Mahogany lowboys of this age from England are plentiful but cherry pieces are very rare.
