About the Item

Furniture set by Artist Govert Heikoop (1951-2007) What shall we call it Post modern, Abstract, Minimalist, Memphis Style, De Stijl. Heikoop's artwork has been described by Art critics as "Linear sculpture with a balanced volume in a continuous organic form, without beginning, without end." There is a minimalist quality that speaks of the Conceptual movement in sculpture with artists such as Donald Judd. A visual statement in a modern or contemporary space. Heikoop’s training under architect Daniel Libeskind is evident in his precise handling of form, structure, and spatial relationships. This work showcases his ability to merge minimalism with a sense of narrative continuity, inviting viewers to consider shifts in time and perspective—concepts central to Heikoop's artistic vision. This set reflects Heikoop’s mastery in creating sculptures that transform spaces through their vibrant forms and reflective qualities. This is unique order-made furniture set (5).
