A sculptural nest of three ‘Isosceles’ tables by Max Sauze for Atrow, France, dating to the 1970s.
Each table is composed of a geometric frame in black-lacquered steel rod, crisply delineated and subtly tapering, supporting a floating glass top. The proportions are spare yet poetic — a study in rhythm and transparency, where structure becomes ornament.
Designed with versatility in mind, the trio can be grouped as a modular low table or used independently as side or occasional tables. Sauze, a key figure in the French modernist movement, is best known for his innovative use of wire forms, and here he achieves an almost architectural lightness — Modernism with a lyrical edge.
A refined example of mid-century French design with a distinctly graphic presence.
