About the Item

Orsenigo nesting tables, gold plated gilt and bevelled glass, circa 1980s, Italian. This nest of three tables has been thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina, they are ready to use. This set of nesting tables by Italian designer & manufacturer Orsenigo, have a pared down neoclassical design. Along the top there is banding similar to a frieze. The bevelled glass emphasises the hexagonal shape popular in neoclassical architecture. When all 3 tables are positioned together, inside each other, the result is an interesting stacking with all 3 tables having the same depth and graduated widths varying by 10 cm. Practical & elegant this set would suit a range of interior schemes such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, 1970s Glamour, Traditional, Industrial or Contemporary. Structurally these tables have tubular column legs. These are finished at the bottom with a similar banding as at the top of the frames.The frame is a hexagonal shape with each corner finished with a unique rounded corner which softens the Minimalist design. This along with the banding gives the form a sense of `movement`. Inside the rectangular frames sit the clear glass tops. The hexagonal shape is detailed with a wide bevelled edge enhancing the shape and creating depth. Each glass top has a thickness of 6 mm and is cut with a diagonal in the corner to sit securely within the frame. This feature also emphasises the decorative corner. The glass tops can be easily removed for cleaning & transport. These three tables are all in very good condition, sound & strong. The original gold plated gilt finish is present on the surface of the frames and is in very good condition, with minor rubbing in line with age. The original vintage glass tops are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. All the original rubber stoppers are present & discreetly inset at the feet. The original Orsenigo maker`s label is still present on one of the frames Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport, the tops would be wrapped individually in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The frames would be bubble wrapped and if necessary in an out of layer of card. These tables could fit safely in a box for shipping and easily posted & exported.
