Exceptional Pair Of Carved, Painted And Gilt Baroque Style Pedestals
About the Item
A pair of finely crafted carved, painted and gilt finished column form pedestals in the Italian baroque style. The ebonized pedestals are barley twist in form with large carved and gilt acanthus leaves in relief winding around them. The Corinthian capitals are ornately carved with gilt acanthus leaves in high relief and incurved ebonized tops. Each is raised on a raised circular base with complementary gilt acanthus leaves and four scrolled feet.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age and use including losses to the ebonized finish on one top and slight wear to the other top. There are a few expected scrapes to the feet and minor gilt losses mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is extraordinary.
