About the Item

Very beautiful Louis XIII style side table, bedside table, pedestal table or console from the end of the 19th century, in walnut with a drawer and wonderfully turned legs. Woodworking is very delicate. The base is original and elegant: the legs are tapered and turned, connected by a stretcher with gracefully curved ends, Very pretty patina The Louis XIII style is a specifically French style of decoration, furnishing and architecture, covering the period from 1610 to 1661. If King Louis XIII only reigned until 1643, the Louis XIII style lasted until upon the arrival of Louis XIV to power in 1661. Characteristic of a period of transition between the Renaissance style and the Baroque style, the Louis XIII style assimilates Italian, Spanish and Flemish influences, it inspired at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the neo-Louis XIII style .
