About the Item
A pair of American carved-wood pedestals from the early 20th century. This antique pair of pedestals have been carved in a shell, foliage and volute motif. The rectangular-shaped tops are flat, and stick out farther from the lower more squared bases. Emphasis of carving is prominent at the front of these pieces, with sides more subdued with elongated panels and a carved volute at top, while backsides remain flat- as to be placed against a wall. The overall color palette consists of various shades of grey, which is newer, custom paint not original to these columns. This early 20th century carved pedestals, standing 40 inches tall, would be great flanking a living room or entry hall wall, tops adorn with some wonderful art or plants.
