About the Item

A pedestal table from carved oak with a circular top, embedded with white marble plates which center around a central carved motif with floral decoration. Provenance : Collection of Ms Sierra, Paris; Private collection, Paris. Armand-Albert Rateau (1882-1938), described by Architectural Digest as "one of the most exclusive interior designers of the 1920s" was a French designer and furniture maker. Rateau is especially known for his innovative bronze funiture creations and his design collaborations with the Jeanne-Marie Lanvin. Bibliography : OAK.
