18th Century Sewing Table, Side Table from 1786

About the Item

Antique side table, sewing or work table from 1786. Dimensions: H x W x D: 78 x 62 x 39 cm Description: Solid oak piece of furniture standing on curved legs. The outer edge of the legs and the edge of the top is decorated by fine light-dark contrasting fillet bands. The highlight of the little table is its rollau shutter, which can be moved to the back and is finely composed of different woods. Here we can also see the inlaid and fire-shaded date: 1786. If we open the roller shutter, we see an interior divided into numerous compartments. In the back there are five little drawers with curved fronts. These five drawers date from the time the furniture was made, the front compartments were added at a later date. Condition: Restored while preserving the beautiful old patina. Ready for use and everyday use.
