1930s-40s Japanese wabi sabi small writing desk, side table, organic japandi
About the Item
Wooden small writing desk with 2 drawers made of fine quality Sugi Cedar, manufactured circa 1930s to 40s estimate from the style & condition.
Suitable size for a side table, it's right weight, easy to move around. Wide & stable enough for display use.
This piece is one of the "Ashed" line furnitures of my shop items - bleached with lye made from the hardwood ashes, then re-finished with homemade sheer matte polish mist made of beeswax & linseed oil. Not shiny, but touches are smooth enough.
Smooth opening & closing operation for both drawers - the desk's side plates & back plate (around the drawers part) are missing at some time in the past.
No functional issues as it is - even look more minimal & simple, but I can fix it with matching Sugi cedar plates for free if needed.
Original vintage iron drawer pulls are attached.
Height between the floor & the underneath of the desk : 22.36 in (20.15 in to the lower edge of the front decoration board)
Drawers inner : w 7.67 in / d 14.96 in / h 2.55 in
