About the Item

1940s Danish A.J. Iversen side table in oak The circular side table in oak with elegant details was originally ordered as a wedding present for the previous owners parents at A.J. Iversen for their wedding in 1946. The table has been fully restored and refinished by our cabinetmakers to ensure that it´s in excellent condition. A.J. Iversen (1888 - 1979), was a Danish cabinetmaker and furniture designer who both designed and manufactured his own furniture and from the 1920s, in collaboration with architects and designers paved the way for the style which later became known as Danish modern / Scandinavian Modern. Iversen's simplified designs built on historical models while maintaining sensitivity and refinement. Always intent on pursuing the high quality norms of Danish cabinetmaking, he took advantage of the latest developments in production technology.
