About the Item
This antique French bouillotte table was crafted circa 1870 in the Empire style and features a rich walnut cylindrical body topped with a round fossil black marble surface. The marble is finely honed and subtly speckled with fossil inclusions, adding natural texture and character to the table’s otherwise sleek form.
The body opens with a single curved door revealing two fitted interior shelves, ideal for bedside or living room storage. Its drum form rests on a tiered circular plinth base, enhancing the architectural silhouette. The wood retains a warm, lustrous patina with elegant grain variation, and the original brass knob features floral and foliate detailing typical of the period.
