19th Century Italian Carved Marble and Bronze Octagonal Pedestal Side Table

About the Item

This elegant and colorful antique marble pedestal table was created in Italy, circa 1890. The heavy, sturdy pedestal sits on an octagonal base decorated with brass mounts over a carved round stem embellished with a decorative brass rim at the neck and bottom. The surface is dressed with an octagonal variegated green marble top over an apron decorated with brass mounts; the surface is further embellished with a inset brown marquetry band around the edge. The table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated finish. Place this side table in a living room next to a chair, or place it in a corner as a small pedestal to support a flower vase, bust or sculpture. Measures: 20.25" W x 20.25" D x 29" H.
