Antique 17th Century English Charles II Oak Occasional Hall Side Table in Oak

About the Item

This is a fine-quality Charles II side table made in solid oak in the late 17th century. It has three plank bold top that was attached to the frame with wooden pens. The table has a single working full-length drawer, which features the original brass teardrop handles. The legs are hand turned and connected by an H-stretcher. The legs show signs of wear and age. The side table has a dark oxblood oak color. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic color and patination that can only be achieved through age and years of care and endless waxing. The table is in very good condition considering its age (over 300 years old) Old use marks on the top and bottom part of the legs contribute to the antique appearance of the piece. The drawer is in good working order and closes flush to the frame. The drawer interior was renewed a few decades ago. The table is well constructed, solid in joint, and ready to use.
