Antique French 1920s Faux-Bois Stone Round Side Table on Custom-Made Iron Base
About the Item
A large French faux-bois stone side table from the early 20th century mounted on a custom iron base. This French side table features a round light-colored faux-bois top, sitting above a custom-made iron base made of three splayed legs connected to one another through a thin cross stretcher. The faux-bois technique, imitating wood (literally meaning false wood in French), became particularly popular in France at the end of the 19th century. Strolling through the paths of the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont in Paris will show you an early example of this style. The combination here of the rustic looking top on the modern base, along with the striking contrast of their colors will make this French Faux-Bois stone side table circa 1920 an excellent choice for any living room.
