This is an antique jewellery table. A French, walnut and boxwood side or work table, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1890. Exuding undeniable French elegance, displaying exceptional craftsmanship, fine materials and decorative flourish Select walnut stocks showing beautiful grain interest and warm caramel hues Quarter bookmatched lid with boxwood inlay, featuring a superb scrolled foliate motif Lid opens to reveal a fitted interior with a gilt edged mirror Quality bevelled mirror plate displays a bright reflection with minimal foxing Interior replete with a removable sliding tray hosting three compartments Shaped fascia hosts an inset, brass lined lock — key present Standing gracefully upon a quartet of cabriole legs, each terminating in a delightful pad foot Of useful proportion and ideal as a jewellery table, side table or elegant work table, this is a most charming late Victorian example, offering refined style and practical storage for the dressing room or reception space.
