This is a superb antique side table. An English, mahogany buffet or server in the manner of Sheraton by Hamptons of London, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
Distinctive serpentine form with an abundance of quality
Displaying a desirable aged patina
Select mahogany offers striking grain interest
Rich caramel hues radiate beneath a wax polish finish
A low backrest sits over the generously sized top
Delightful bow front in the manner of Sheraton
Arranged as a pair of wide drawers, following the sinuous curve to the centre
Each drawer dressed with circular drop handles over ornate foliate backplates
Bone inlay shield lock escutcheons offer an appealing contrast, key absent
Cockbeaded drawers open to reveal an emerald green baize lining, cutlery tray to the right
Black retail roundel to right drawer box reads 'Hamptons, Pall Mall East, London'
Raised upon gently tapered, slender legs with dashing arrowhead spade feet
This is a beautiful antique side table or buffet server, with quality mahogany figuring and rich color. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
