About the Item
A pair of Art Deco coffee table or low stands (end tables or side tables) - each table featuring an elegant chromed steel frame and oval black glass top with black acrylic under-tier, from an original design by the celebrated Austrian artist, Josef Hoffmann, first produced between the end of the 1920s and the first years of the 1930s.
Two Available - Individually Priced - $3895 Each Table
Josef Hoffmann (1870 - 1956) was an Austrian artist and designer who co-founded the Wiener Werkstätte.
He studied at the Higher State Crafts School in Brno, and then worked with the local military planning authority in Germany. He also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Wien with Karl Freiherr von Hasenauer and Otto Wagner, graduating with a Prix de Rome in 1895.
