Art Deco vintage two tier circular coffee table or sofa table from walnut attributed to Ludwig Schmitt 1930s Vienna.
Ludwig Schmitt Kunsttischlerei was a high quality cabinetmaker, also K.& K. Hoftischlerei since 1898, located in the 1st district Stephansplatz 8, nearby the St. Stephans cathedral, while the production was situated in the 8th district Florianigasse 50.
Ludwig Schmitt co worked with many popular artists and designers for his furnitures and interiors e.g. Karl Witzmann or Josef Hoffmann.
A beautiful coffee table or side table from walnut with two tiers and four rectangular like legs.
The high quality coffee table is shellac polished by hand and features a stunning warmth and depth. During this period the craftsmen loved to use various geometric shapes and created a tension throughout this shape. This interior fashion was also influenced throughout the Bauhaus.
Our coffee tables shows two circular plates and four rectangular feet.
Absolutely beautiful to marry the table with Contemporary interior or Art Deco style to create an eclectic mixture.
Warm brown chocolate color to which you could add jewel tones like emerald green or burnt orange or you pair it with hue of earthen tones.
Very good condition with minor signs of age and use
