Bauhaus Side Table
About the Item
A' Design Award Iron - Furniture 2023
One of the greatest expressions of the modernist movement, the Bauhaus was born in an important historical context, with the goal of having a democratic school and with the principle of building pieces that were totally simple and, at the same time, functional.
This is a piece with a strong symbolism behind it. With a narrative behind its organic and simple forms, it alludes to several elements contained in the Bauhaus movement. Regarding the colors in the composition, the intention here was to use the saturation contrast method, demonstrated by Johannes Itten, which occurs when saturated, pure colors are combined with desaturated colors. This creates a play of color intensity, highlighting the saturated color, applied to a subtle detail in the case of the Bauhaus table. A graceful balance between form and function.

- Mandacaru Side TableBy Gabriela Campos, Estúdio Mais AlmaLocated in Rio De Janeiro, RJA' Design Award Bronze - Furniture 2023 This piece is a tribute of the work "A Lua" (1928), by Tarsila do Amaral, who played a key role in the emergence of Brazil’s modernism movement, with her unmistakable signature, and its vivid colors and rounded shapes. The painting was purchased by MoMA in New York in 2019, established the Brazilian artist in the scene of the most relevant and eternalized international modern painters. The intention was to recreate its soul, bringing through shapes and colors harmony, through a fluid and organic design. The landscape that stretches against a waning moonlit night is delicately embodied in a small brass...Category
