Black Lacquered Antique Sewing Table Side Table Mahogany 19th Century
About the Item
Beautiful black lacquered mahogany sewing table or side table with turned 'bobbin' legs, late 19th century, France.
The table top opens, revealing the various small compartments along the side and the large compartment in the centre, there is also a trapezoidal drawer at the bottom. There are two decorative floral brass bands around it, which is a very nice detail.
This table originally had a wood colour, someone once decided to lacquer this table completely black, the result is a decorative and very useful object that looks great in any interior!
The table is in good antique condition, some partitions inside are missing, a superficial crack due to age on the table top, the whole is very charming and has a beautiful age patina, the key is missing, check the photos for more details!
