About the Item
Circa 1860 lap desk writing box on custom side table stand, English. Well figured rosewood with extensive brass bindings, modified star form engraving shield (unused) and escutcheon. Worn, very old leather writing surface. Minor interior nibbles and veneer losses; once with hidden interior drawers. Now on custom stand with square, straight legs and X-cross-stretcher. Condition commensurate with age and use.
Box: 19.75″ x 10.13″ x 6.75″. Overall with stand: 20.25″ x 10.63″ x 22.13″ h.
