About the Item
Named for the lap joints that make up its structure, the Lap Table is a versatile piece that can easily function as a side table, end table, nightstand, or entry table with a place for reading materials or mail. When viewed straight on, the form, structure, and function are revealed to be in perfect harmony. Constructed by hand using traditional joinery techniques.
Customers can choose from ash (pictured), cherry, walnut (pictured), or white oak.

Casey Lurie Studio
Casey Lurie is an independent designer based in Chicago. He apprenticed as a cabinet maker in Los Angeles before spending three years in Tokyo as designer-in-residence for Japanese furniture manufacturer Idée. In 2012 he established his design practice, Casey Lurie Studio, which integrates craft and industrial techniques to produce furniture and objects marked by thoughtful attention to detail, scale, and proportion. In addition to his studio production, Lurie works with like-minded manufacturers, architects, and interior designers to design and develop a wide range of projects.
