About the Item

Ceramic Dym Side Table by Perler Limited Edition of 20 Dimensions: D 30 x H 45-50 cm Materials: Hand-rolled coils of stoneware clay. Weight: 15 kg. The organic, almost flowing folds of the ceramic “Dym” table evoke smoke trails suspended in the air. This transience—captured in stoneware clay fired at 1 240 °C—was seized by ceramic artist Aleksandra Went, who created for Perler Design a series of twenty unique table-sculptures. “The form is an attempt to lock in clay something as ephemeral as smoke,” Went notes. She signs each piece by hand with her name while treating it as a canvas: brushstrokes build a graphic rhythm, so the table tells not only a sculptural but also a painterly story. Although conceptually cohesive, the objects will differ from one another like fragments of the same ever-changing cloud. Every table is built entirely by hand using the time-consuming coil technique—hand-rolled stoneware strips are joined and shaped until a sculptural form emerges from the chaotic spiral. The slow pace lets the artist be intuitively “guided” by the clay: when the material suggests a direction, the hands follow it. At the raw-clay stage, Aleksandra paints the surface with engobe, leading irregular white and black bands that wrap the mass like wisps of smoke. The tabletop is finished with glaze (white-top version) or lacquer (warm-grey version). Both variants share a monochrome palette that ranges from graphite and anthracite to chalk white and warm chamotte grey. Each subsequent piece will differ in the engobe pattern and the micro-sculpture of the surface. If you prefer a specific tone or height, let us know—within this series we can introduce subtle adjustments. Perler Design stands as a testament to the beauty of collaborative artistry. Every piece has its own story, born from a fusion of our sculptural forms, minimalist designs and the unique touch of individual artists. Meticulously handcrafted, each product, be it a coffee table, lamp, or relief, isn’t just a piece of furniture - it's a work of applied art, a reflection of our brand's commitment to authentic design and craftsmanship. At the heart of Perler Design is Katherine Szyc, the founder and chief creative. Katherine herself designs and crafts a special collection of coffee and side tables as well as dining tables made from jesmonite. Additionally, she seeks out remarkable artistic talents throughout Poland. She collaborates with these artists, co-designing projects that are then brought to life through their skilled hands. This bespoke approach sets us apart, shunning mass production in favor of individual vision and creating truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

Beige Crackle Side Table by Perler Limited Edition Dimensions: Ø 31 x H 50 cm. Materials: Jesmonite. Weight: 15 kg. Beige Crackle is a handmade ceramic side table crafted by Jakub Biewald from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. This multifunctional piece can serve as a coffee table, nightstand, stool, or even a sculpture. Its unique, asymmetrical shape results from an intricate coiling clay technique, ensuring each piece's distinctiveness in form and texture. The table is adorned with a taupe glaze featuring a crackle effect, which showcases irregular black cracks. Suitable for both dry and wet areas, it can be placed in bathrooms, balconies, patios, or gardens. This space was created for individuals who, like me, appreciate originality, artistic objects, art, and design. Here, you’ll find more than just inspiration and advice – it’s a destination for applied art, featuring original designer furniture and artist-signed collections. You can find limited collections of tables, lamps, vases, and bas-reliefs, created exclusively for the Perler Design...
