Early 19th Century English Regency Period Sewing Table
About the Item
An elegant Regency period English mahogany and rosewood work table, circa 1815, in the manner of Gillows, having an attractive flame mahogany top with rope trim detail, above a single drawer with quality hand-cut dovetail joinery, over a removable pull out needlework sewing bin decorated with beautiful light blue and white damask fabric with fringe skirt, set in an angular frame showcasing rich highly figured rosewood, rising on tapering faceted pedestal, resting on shaped quadripartite base, terminating in turned feet.

Condition:
Great shape overall, especially considering it's over 200 years old. Beautiful nicely aged patina over the whole, warm color and tone with superb wood grain detailing. A few scattered marks and slight age related warping to the top, all wear and tear consistent with age and use, nothing that detracts from the display, but only adds to the overall antique character, charming warmth and luminous depth.
Delivered cleaned, hand waxed, polished, ready for immediate use.
