About the Item
This small scale early twentieth century French Louis XVI style hand carved beech wood side table features a rose colored marble top with grey and white veining. A rais-de-coeur pattern surrounds the marble, and laurels detail the apron. Rosettes adorn the die joints. The table rests on fluted legs with finial feet joined by two lower shelves that provide stability as well as display space. Each shelf is complete with a caned surface. Finished with a white wash, this piece would be ideal in a bathroom or as a small serving piece in a dining room. c. 1920.
