English Drop Leaf Rectangular Side Table

About the Item

Rectangular flap table. The flaps are supported by hinged brackets that extend from the lower structure when open. The base has four turned legs with vertical grooves and carved details at the ends, typical of the neoclassical or Empire style. It has two central drawers, positioned one above the other, both with metal handles and inlaid locks, and a drawer without a lock below these two. Finished in a dark varnish with a moderate sheen, the symmetrical and functional design allows you to expand or reduce the usable area as required. The piece is suitable for residential environments as a side table, sewing table or side table, and stands out for its versatility and compact proportions. Style and construction indicate 19th or early 20th century production.
