French "Prouvésque" Metal Table with Compass Legs

About

This French console table is an elaborate and expressive steel structure exquisitely made from folded and welded steel, mostly of triangular section. Which invites a comparison with the "engineered" furniture of Jean Prouvé, and in particular, his famous Compass desks and tables. It may be that this futuristic table (in aesthetics, technique, and materials it is thoroughly Prouvésque) was made by Prouvé, but I have been unable to confirm any authorship. For the moment then, "dans le goût de Prouvé" will have to suffice.

The top of the table sits 29" high, and is 23.5" long x 14" deep. The overall dimensions of the piece are larger, as the legs spread out beyond the perimeter of the top.
