What a thing! This is an absolute master class of carving from every angle, made as mentioned after the original kettle stands by Thomas Chippendale, those naturally sell in the hundreds of thousands. This one was made by the world famous Howard & Son's, before Howard became known as makers of the most comfortable seating in the world, they were cabinet makers producing some exquisite pieces that in the day were on pare with Gillow's
In terms of the condition the timber has a lovely original patina, my French polisher has restored the table, he has basically washed it back to remove the years of dirt and bring out the amazing original colour, being sure that all the period patina remains, the table has then been lightly French polished, the end result is a gallery perfect piece
