A Italian late 18th century Baroque st. Giltwood and Walnut side table
About the Item
A stunning and very decorative Italian late 18th century Baroque st. Giltwood and Walnut side table. This beautiful side table is raised by a scallop shaped mottled Giltwood base with dentil patterned designed along the top edge and supported on four scrolling acanthus leaf feet. Atop the base are two majestic winged stallions that flank the central support. The central support has an upward tapering base with fluted designs and a socle having palmette carvings above. Above the palmette decorated socle is an additional taller socle containing a laurel vine hanging on either side as well as a mottled band central reserve with carved bead designs. Above the central support is the lovely oval shaped Walnut top which is edged with dentil patterned Giltwood carvings.
