This is an old Japanese side table or bench.
It was made in the Meiji and Taisho periods (1860s-1920s), and is made of cedar wood with a beautiful rustic texture.
The straight, streamlined design is impressive, and the spirit of “wabi-sabi” is quietly conveyed through the decorative restraints.
