About the Item

This is an old wooden box made in Japan. It is thought to date from around the Meiji period and is made of cherry wood. It is one of the folk tools used in early modern Japan, and is a rectangular wooden box used to store clothes, bedding, etc. Overall, the red and black colors have changed into a beautiful pattern due to rubbing over time. The top is made of a single board with no joints. It can be used as a side table, and as you can put things inside, it can also be used for storage. Weight: 12.7kg
