Etruscan "X-Legged" Hooved Side Table in the style of John Dickinson (American, 1920-1982). Table is rare and iconic and is a collectible piece that exemplifies his ability to blend classical motifs with a raw, sculptural sensibility. Table features molded plaster, a square top supported by sculptural legs in an "X" formation, and terminates in stylized hooves, lending the table a mythological presence. The irregular, hand-molded surface and hand-crafted detailing evoke ancient or tribal artifacts, reflecting Dickinson's belief through imperfection and primitive form. Table makes a wonderful statement piece, while offering both functional and high style as a side table or nightstand. Impressed signature on underside, "John Dickinson San Francisco."
