La Lune is above all a project to find another way of life: slower, more enlightened, more conscious, more harmonious. Born out of the need to create a new space. A space to live better, where we had to relearn how to make things with our hands, how to live with the rhythm of the seasons, to take our time. Conscious, and uncomfortable in a society of unbridled consumption, it is now urgent for us to find ways to resist.
One act of resistance: make one’s home a refuge for thinking and creating. For
sharing and surrounding one’s self with beautiful objects. Beautiful objects that carry along with them these new values - respect for the artisan, their work, their time. Cherishing imperfections, non-conformity and integrity.
Pieces sometimes come to us laden with history, Icons of design, reflections of their time, the hand of their creators. Other pieces are curiosities, anonymous, filled with charming poetry.
It is essential for us to also propose the work of artisans & crafts(wo)men,
demanding and meticulous, who resist the mad rush of the capitalist world.

The La Che Side Table honors the beautiful traditional weaving craft of Colombia. Sebastian Herkner designed the collection after visiting Colombia and studying the weaving techniques of the local artisans. The name La Che is a reference to the Laches, an indigenous Colombian people, who used a method with the same name to create baskets. The tables are available in three sizes.
The tables are made in small workshops in the Boyacá region, which is situated 2,400 meters above sea level in the Colombian Andes. This area has a long tradition of working with fibers made from the leaves of the fique plant. These fibers are wound by hand and a robust part of the fique plant is used as a frame. The dyes used have mostly natural ingredients, such as nuts, roots, and bark from trees, all native to the region. The production process is very labor-intense and requires a great deal of skill: It takes several weeks to produce one La Che table...
