About the Item
A Louis XIII style French side table made of solid hand-carved walnut. Elaborately detailed in a Neo Renaissance style with fine turned legs forming an arched colonnade over the center stretcher. Fine carvings include large scrolls with acanthus leaves, lion head prunts, turned finials and foliate molding along the perimeter of the tabletop. Pegged construction. Waxed patina. All original. This type of table was used as a writing table or small desk and has good proportions for use as a side table or hall table. Please refer to photos for more details.
