About the Item

A matched pair of Regency octagonal oak whatnot or etagere Probably originally designed for use in a library to hold rolled maps, or plans, these whatnots make an unusual pair of side tables, or lamp tables. The two of the same design with slight differences in design, but the same size, the octagonal tops with reeded border over two lower tiers, supported by classical fluted columns, the capitols and plinths with turned collars. Stand upon turned bun feet. English, circa 1820 76cm H, 29cm W, 29cm D.
