About the Item

An exquisite Napoleon III side table, late 19th century, richly decorated with intricate marquetry and fine bronze mounts. The table features two oval tops, each inlaid with elaborate floral motifs—one depicting a bouquet of flowers, the other a still life arrangement with vases and blossoms. The craftsmanship of the marquetry showcases a refined palette of exotic woods, carefully arranged to create depth and naturalism. The shaped apron is adorned with scrolling inlays and fitted with two drawers, complemented by a discreet pull-out writing slide, making the piece as practical as it is decorative. Raised on slender cabriole legs with gilt bronze sabots and mounts, the table also includes a shaped lower shelf with further marquetry inlay.
