You are viewing a gorgeous pair of French side tables in the Louis XVI manner
The tops feature exquisite marquetry inlay, with scrolling floral and foliate motifs surrounded by an intricate border
The parquetry background adds visual depth and richness, likely made from kingwood or tulipwood with contrasting lighter veneers
Each apron is adorned with a series of finely painted porcelain plaques in Sevres-style, depicting romantic scenes or floral arrangements in soft pastels, framed by gilded beading
The tables are richly decorated with gilt-bronze (ormolu) mounts, including acanthus motifs at the corners and bordering the porcelain plaques
