About the Item
In the manner of Jacques Adnet (French, 1901–1984) for Hermès, this stylish pair of equestrian motif iron side tables exemplifies the French mid-century taste for equestrian and campaign-inspired modernism. Executed in patinated iron to simulate natural strapwork, each table features an elegant curule-form base with X-shaped stretchers bound by leather-wrapped detailing at the joints—an iconic motif associated with Adnet’s collaboration with Hermès during the 1940s and 1950s.
The curvilinear form is further emphasized by the sinuous bent “bamboo” legs, terminating in upturned scroll feet. A square beveled glass top rests atop each base, offering a crisp contrast to the sculptural warmth of the metalwork below. The restrained material palette—saddle-stitched leather, iron, and glass—exemplifies the artisanal luxury and modern rigor of Adnet’s design vocabulary.
Although unsigned, the construction and detailing closely follow documented models by Adnet for Hermès, echoing the Maison’s blend of equestrian heritage and avant-garde modernism.

Pair, Antique Spanish Colonial Style Iron Prickets
Located in Atlanta, GA
This pair of Spanish Colonial-style iron prickets, dating from the early 20th century or possibly 19th century, is a striking example of hand-forged craftsmanship from a bygone era. Crafted in the tradition of Spanish Colonial metalwork, these prickets feature a central stem adorned with four meticulously hand-forged roundels, which ascend in a graceful, rhythmic pattern. The prickets rest upon three elegantly splayed feet, further exemplifying the organic yet functional design characteristic of Spanish Colonial aesthetics.
The distressed, rusted surface of each pricket tells the story of centuries of use and exposure, enhancing their historical and visual appeal. The patina, developed over time, lends these prickets a timeless quality that underscores their authenticity and age, evoking the rustic charm and enduring beauty of early Colonial furniture...
