About the Item
A unique and most decorative pair of English 19th century Japanese black lacquered display side tables. Each table is raised by elegant cabriole legs with finely detailed charming foliate accents which continue up each lightly curved leg. The legs are connected by a fine tier with concave sides, beautiful branches, and blooming flowers. The aprons display wrap around mottled bands and remarkable finely detailed scenes of personages amidst a town, bridges, and floral accents at the sides and back. The display lids above retain their original glass panes and open upon their original hardware to reveal their original tufted silk upholstered interiors.
